The DRB-Geoconsult GmbH is a consulting company specialized in foundation and soil improvement techniques, both for underground as above-ground structures. The company is comprised of three partners, each with 40 to 50 years of worldwide experience. Their professional careers began at Ing. Giovanni Rodio SpA, a company that was a global leader in the field for 80 years. The primary goal of DRB-Geoconsult is to provide consulting and technical assistance to companies, designers, and engineering firms in various sectors of geotechnics and deep foundations around the world.

JET GROUTING
Jet Grouting is a ground improvement method used in construction to increase strength and reduce permeability of soil in-situ. The jet grout process involves injecting a high-velocity stream of cement grout in-situ into the soil under high pressure. The grout mixes with the soil, forming a cement-stabilized soil column.
ROCK GROUTING
Rock Grouting is a technology for the water tightening and the strengthening of rock masses by injecting cement-based suspensions or chemical grouts into cracks, fissures or cavities of the rock.
Main applications :
Curtain grouting for dams;
Water tightening and reinforcement of the rock for the excavation of underwater structures like, tunnels, caverns, etc.
SOIL GROUTING
Soil Grouting is a technology for the water tightening and the strengthening of soil masses by injecting cement-based suspensions or chemical grouts into pores and voids.
The injection normally occurs through tubes –a-manchettes equipped with rubber sleeves.
Main applications: Curtain grouting for dams; Water tightening and reinforcement of the soil for the excavation of underwater structures like, pits and tunnels.
SOIL GROUTING (COMPENSATION)
Compensation Grouting is one particular application of the soil grouting, aiming to compress and heave the soil in a controlled manner, to compensate for settlements induced by bad soil quality or the excavation of underground structures in the vicinity
ARTIFICIAL GROUND FREEZING THE BRINE PROCESS
The Artificial Ground Freezing is a construction technique creating a mass of frozen soil with improved strength and impermeability Brine (a solution of calcium chloride into water) is the typical cooling agent.
Brine circulate into the freezing pipes at a temperature ranging between -30 °C and -35°C) in a closed circuit and is cooled down into special electric chillers
ARTIFICIAL SOIL FREEZING LIQUID NITROGEN PROCESS
The liquid Nitrogen lN2, is an alternative cooling agent.
The nitrogen is supplied in liquid state and circulates into the freezing pipes at temperatures ranging between -196°C and -80°C)
Once used is released into the atmosphere, of which is the main component
ANCHORS
Ground Anchors are versatile devices used to hold, restrain, and support buildings and other structures, either permanently or temporarily.
The primary purpose of geotechnical ground anchors is to prevent horizontal or vertical movements while stabilizing retaining structures, including sheet piles, bored concrete piles and steel tubular walls, underwater slabs.
DSM/CSM
DEEP SOIL MIXING (DSM) and CUTTER SOIL MIXING (CSM) are soil improvement techniques used to construct cutoff or retaining / impervious walls and treat soils in-situ.
This is accomplished with a series of overlapping stabilized soil elements in form of: Cylinders (DSM); Rectangular panels (CSM)
PILES
Bored piles are cylindrical bodies made of concrete (with or without reinforcement) which are installed in the ground by a variety of methods.
They transmit high structural loads into lower, load-bearing soils.Piles can be used as heavy foundations, securing deep excavations especially close to existing buildings as well as stabilizing and retaining slopes.
HDD DRILLING
The Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a drilling technique used in many different industries from mining to construction and civil projects. HDD is used in multiple industries to effectively drill through tough terrain. HDD has the advantage of being able to select specific angles and bypass certain underground hazards or rock formations. Modern technology allows HDD operators to carefully plan and map their drill site before the drill is deployed.
DIAPHRAGM WALLS CUT-OFF WALLS
A diaphragm wall, or slurry wall, is a structure formed and cast in a slurry trench. The trench excavation is initially supported by either bentonite or polymer-based slurries. The slurry is replaced by (reinforced or unreinforced) concrete or precast elements, that act as a structural system either for temporary excavation support or as part of the permanent structure.
Cut-off walls are defined as low-permeability barriers constructed within high-permeability geotechnical formations to reduce water seepage. Cut-off walls have no structural functions, can also be referred to as water barriers.
